The Amakhala Foundation (AF) recently held Water Day last week -25 March at Amakhala Conservation Centre (ACC). The AF hosted 4 schools located in and around the Addo region with a total of 53 children and 6 teachers attending.
The theme was “Rivers” and the children learned about healthy and populated rivers, exotic and indigenous types of fish, Cape clawless otters –who live in the Bushman’s River and their presence is an important indicator that a river is healthy. They also had to think about all the different ways we use water. This is key in youth development and growth for our future generation, we hope this event can grow and we can get more youth involvement as time goes. Keep your eyes peeled for more developments from the Amakhala Foundation.
